Some examples are taking a passage from a non fiction book then finding a way to link it to fictional writing through a short story.
Another is to take pages of text I wrote and then rearranging them to find odd and interesting combinations, and then filling the spaces with new writing to find a narrative or essay. This is one I called The Cut Ups, and it was pioneered by William S. Burroughs.
That's just two methods. Sometimes I'll create simple collages with writing I'm stuck with.
